4 STEPS OF PREFERENCE ANALYSIS (*+1)

1. ANALYSIS OF THE STRONGEST-SELLING SALES ITEMS  (Export)
You provide us with the data from the last 24 months as a basis for our analysis; material numbers and descriptions, sales per article, customs tariff numbers, recipient countries of the customers, country of origin of the materials and, if available, the preference codes.
First of all, we examine the data quality, check the customs tariff numbers and correct them if necessary. We then analyze the respective customs tariffs for the receiving countries with which free trade agreements exist.
As a result, you find out how much duty is imposed on your sales items and how much duty costs you can save by implementing a free trade agreement.

*FOR PRODUCTION COMPANIES ONLY – ANALYSIS OF ADDED VALUE IN THE PRODUCT (preference determination)
You entrust us with the parts lists of your products, the purchase prices of the procurement items and the sales prices of the end products or semi-finished goods.
We determine the appropriate list rules in the free trade agreements for your products. Using the parts list, we analyze whether the list rules are met.
As a result, you know whether your products meet the list rules or whether supplier declarations are required for input materials.

2. ANALYSIS OF THE HIGHEST-COSTING PROCUREMENT ITEMS (Import)
You provide us with the data from the last 24 months as a basis for our analysis: material numbers and descriptions, purchase prices per article, customs tariff numbers, countries of origin and name of the suppliers, countries of origin of the materials and, if available, the preference codes.
We then analyze the total purchasing volume and differentiate between the purchasing volume of domestic or intra-community procurement and the purchasing volume from countries with and without free trade agreements. In addition, we also identify the suppliers from whom proof of origin for primary materials and merchandise must be obtained.
As a result, you know how much effort it takes to obtain, control and archive supplier declarations. You can calculate whether this investment is worthwhile and for which product the effort will exceed the tariff savings.

3. MASTER DATA & PRINT LOGIC
Customs tariff numbers, countries of origin, preference codes – it is essential that the master data in your system be correct.
We check your processes for master data acquisition of new items and for adjustments in the case of changes to existing items. If necessary, we work out a new, secure process together with you.
We heck whether the customs tariff numbers, countries of origin and the declaration of origin for the products are correctly printed on your export papers. If required, we will work out a practicable solution with you – manually or automatically with software.
Subsequently, you attain efficient master data management and always have the correct information about the preferential origin on your delivery documents.

4. RESPONSIBILTIES & DEFINING PROCESSES
To ensure that the results are maintained long-term for your company, to round things off, we look at your organization and processes.
Three contact persons, responsible for origin and preferences, must be named within your company and they must be given the necessary competencies:
– Person with overall responsibility and authority to issue instructions
– Person responsible for drawing up and signing declarations of origin within sales (export)
– Person responsible for maintaining customs tariff numbers, origins and preferences within procurement (import)
Within your processes, we check the customs procedures used in the company. We will also create a process for the flow of information between the procurement, production and sales departments.
As a result, you will be prepared for the correct and efficient application of free trade agreements. You will know what to consider when entering a new customer market, switching to a new supplier or introducing a new product.

SECURITY FOR YOUR DATA
We work with your data for the preference analysis. With a confidentiality agreement, we undertake to protect your data and to use it exclusively for your preference analysis.
