Würth Logistics - Sea Freight
Centrally controlled - troughout the entire transport route
Sea freight is one area within the transport sector in which the experience, knowledge, and expertise of a company’s employees really count. As a customer of Würth Logistics, you will quickly realize that global players like us employ the best and most experienced specialists. Our specialists in Europe, the US, and Asia cooperate with shipping companies across the globe. Our entire sea freight service is available to you – no matter whether you need to send several FCL consignments from Asia to Europe per month or are just looking to send single a pallet via LCL consignment. We simply consolidate these with the consignment of our other customers – thereby saving you costs.
Our specialists process more than 20,000 sea freight containers and even more part container loads every year for the Würth Group and for our customers. It therefore comes as no surprise that they know exactly what is required to ensure that everything goes smoothly. We use our purchasing power in a targeted way to achieve quantity and synergy effects. We secure available free capacities and stable freight rates through long-term agreements with sea freight service providers. This helps keep procurement processes and costs predictable, while also ensuring supply capability at all times.
We collect part container loads with our agents at so-called container freight stations – four in China and three in Taiwan – and then load them together in a single container. Once consolidated, the goods are dispatched to Europe or the US – several times a week. This maximum utilization of available freight space in the containers reduces both the freight prices and CO2 emissions per kilogram. We consolidate consignments leaving Europe at an export hub between Bremen and Hamburg.
Our Transport Management Platform demonstrates its full potential when processing sea freight. It brings together all senders, sea freight service providers, preliminary and subsequent shippers, customs service providers, and recipients involved in the process - all of whom have access to the areas relevant to them. They can record and update data, upload important transport documents, and check the current status of their consignment(s). Once the shipping process is complete, all documents are also available for viewing at any time in the archive.
